Carpet Installation in Seabrook
We put in new carpet and pad, stretched tight and seamed in the right places. We measure first, walk you through pad and fiber choices, and set an install date that works around your schedule. That way the carpet goes in when you're ready, not when the old one gives out.

Soft Floors, Put In the Right Way
Carpet is still the best fit for a lot of rooms. Bedrooms, upstairs halls and family rooms where kids sit on the floor. It's warm, it's quiet and it costs less per room than most hard floors.
The difference between carpet that lasts and carpet that ripples in two years is mostly the install. Pad choice, how hard it's stretched, and where the seams fall. We take care with each of those.
Most people call us when the old carpet is already worn through. It goes better if you call a few months ahead. You get time to look at samples, set money aside and pick a week that doesn't fall on a holiday or a house full of guests.
What Our Carpet Installation Covers
Measuring and seam layout
We measure every room and closet and draw out where the seams will go. Seams belong out of main walkways and running toward the light, not across a doorway.
Removing the old carpet
We pull up the old carpet, pad and staples and haul them off. You don't have to rent a trailer or leave rolls at the curb.
Tack strip and floor prep
We replace broken or rusted tack strip, scrape high spots and check the slab or subfloor for moisture. Carpet over a damp slab can smell musty and break down early, so we look before we lay pad.
The right pad
We match the pad to the carpet and the room. A thin, firm pad under berber, a thicker one in a bedroom. The wrong pad can void the carpet maker's warranty, so we check their specs.
Power stretching
We use a power stretcher, not just a knee kicker. A carpet stretched tight from wall to wall is far less likely to wrinkle or ripple later.
Transitions and cleanup
We finish edges where carpet meets tile, vinyl or wood with the right metal or wood strip. Then we vacuum and clear out the scraps.
Signs It's Time to Plan New Carpet
Ripples that come back
If carpet buckles again after being re-stretched, the backing is likely breaking down. More stretching won't fix it for long.
Worn traffic paths
A matted, flat path from the door to the couch means the fibers are crushed. Cleaning brings back color, not the pile.
Smells that stay after cleaning
Pet accidents and old spills soak into the pad underneath. When odors come back after a deep clean, the pad usually needs to go too.
Water got under it
After a leak or storm water, wet pad holds moisture against the floor. If it wasn't dried fast, mold and odor are a real risk.
You can feel the floor
If you notice hard spots or the slab through the carpet, the pad has gone flat. That's when wear speeds up.
How a Carpet Job Goes
- 1
A phone call
You tell us the rooms, roughly when you'd like the work done and what's bothering you about the current floor. We set a time to come measure.
- 2
Measure and samples
We measure, look at the floor under a corner of the old carpet and bring samples. You get a written estimate with carpet, pad, removal and any stairs listed separately.
- 3
Ordering and scheduling
Once you pick the carpet, we order it and give you a date. Planning ahead here helps, since some colors and styles take a while to come in.
- 4
Install day
Clear small items and anything breakable before we arrive. We pull the old floor, prep, lay pad and stretch the new carpet. Most homes with a few bedrooms are done in a day.
- 5
Walk-through
We walk the rooms with you, check the seams and edges, and point out any doors that may need trimming to clear the new height.
What Affects the Price of New Carpet
The carpet itself is only part of the number. Pad, removal and the shape of your rooms all add up. Each of those gets its own line in our written estimate. That makes it easy to pick where a better grade is worth it and where a simpler choice will do.
- Carpet and pad grade
- Fiber type, density and pad thickness all move the price. A denser carpet with a good pad often outlasts a thick, soft one that crushes fast.
- Room shape and waste
- Carpet comes on wide rolls. Odd-shaped rooms, closets and angled walls mean more cut-off waste, which you pay for.
- Stairs
- Each step is cut and fitted by hand, so stairs take more time than open floor. If you want a hard surface there instead, see our Stair Flooring page.
- Floor condition
- Damaged tack strip, uneven spots or a slab that needs drying add prep time. We tell you what we found before the work starts.
- Furniture and removal
- Hauling off old carpet and moving heavy pieces adds labor. Rooms already cleared go faster.

How far ahead should I call?
A few weeks to a couple of months is ideal. That leaves time to see samples, get the estimate and wait for the carpet to arrive. It also lets you budget for it instead of scrambling after a leak or a move-in date.
Do I need new pad if my old pad looks fine?
Almost always, yes. Old pad is usually flattened, dirty or holding odors even when it looks okay. New carpet on old pad wears out faster and can fall outside the carpet maker's warranty.
Is carpet a good idea in a humid area?
It works well in bedrooms and upstairs rooms. In spots that get wet, like entries, laundry rooms or ground floors near the coast, a hard floor such as luxury vinyl plank or tile is usually the better call. We'll tell you plainly which rooms suit carpet.
Do I have to move my furniture?
Please clear small items, closet floors and anything fragile. Talk to us about the larger pieces when we measure and we'll plan for them. Beds, dressers and electronics take the most time, so it helps to sort that out before install day.
How long until I can walk on it?
Right away. There's no glue drying under most carpet. Expect a new-carpet smell for a few days, so open windows and run the AC fan.
Can you do just one room?
Yes. One bedroom is a fine job. Matching the carpet in the next room can be hard, so plan on a transition strip at the doorway.
